Thiruvananthapuram: The curtains have come down on the FIFA World Cup tournament in Germany but the State Government has plans to keep the football fever raging in Kerala. Sports Minister M. He was speaking after the draw of lots of the Golden Boot contest organised by the Thiruvananthapuram Press Club and Air-India to determine the player scoring the highest number of goals at the World Cup. Mr. Vijayakumar said the Government was planning to set up a football training camp at Malappuram as the first step. "We propose to embark on the promotional drive before the World Cup fever subsides. The Government will see to it that sportspersons will no longer have to face neglect," he said. The Kerala manager of Air India Munaff offered felicitations. R. Jayaprasad of Mathrubhumi and K. Ajithkumar of Kerala Kaumudi won the draw for an air ticket to Singapore.
