Quota in jobs

The article `Who is perpetuating reservation in jobs?' (July 7) by Sharad Yadav has come as a revelation.

It makes one wonder whether in the present scheme of things even a powerful former Union Minister is really helpless to do anything about the serious anomaly pointed out by him. The UPSC is a constitutional body but it does not mean it is not accountable for whatever it does.

In the present context, it is incredible that the practice pointed out in the article, which is not only unconstitutional but also amounts to contempt of court, has been merrily continuing.

D. Natarajan,
Chennai
