Anil shines

NEW DELHI: Sandeep Antil's two goals steered Oil and Natural Gas Corporation (ONGC) to a 6-1 win against Rajput Club in the first round of the B.K. Gautam memorial hockey tournament at the National Stadium here on Monday.

Antil scored on either side of the halves, first slotting in in the eighth minute and then in the 33rd minute in the match played over 60 minutes.

In another first round match, Matharu's Club defeated Stance Club 2-1 with Harish and M. Antil scoring. Harish put his team ahead in the seventh minute, while Ved Prakash equalised two minutes later. Antil struck the winner three minutes from close.
