No change in talks format, says Pakistan

Nirupama Subramanian

ISLAMABAD: No changes were being contemplated in the format of the composite dialogue with India, the Pakistan Foreign Ministry said here on Monday.

Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Tasnim Aslam denied a newspaper report that Pakistan would push for a change in the format, including a demand for regular interactions at the political level and for dropping some subjects from the process.

The two sides agreed on eight subjects, including Kashmir, for talks in the composite dialogue process that began in 2004. The process completed its third round last month.

The Foreign Secretaries are to review the third round later this month.
