Manmohan calls on Kalam

Special Correspondent

New Delhi : Prime Minister Manmohan Singh met President Abdul Kalam on Monday.

A Rashtrapati Bhavan press release said Dr. Singh apprised Mr. Kalam of his coming visit to the G-8 Summit at St. Petersburg in Russia.

He also discussed with the President the Monsoon session of Parliament, which begins in July third week.

The half-an-hour meeting was described as "part of regular interaction" between the President and the Prime Minister.

Mr. Kalam has, of late, been mentioned in press reports as being unhappy over the Office of Profit Bill (which the Rashtrapati Bhavan had once returned for reconsideration).

The President has also been receiving many National Democratic Alliance delegations, which have been expressing unhappiness with the stand of the Manmohan Singh Government on various issues
