HYDERABAD: The EAMCET qualified candidates with ranks between 11,001 to 14,000 are in a quandary over notifications issued by the EAMCET-2006 conveners for general and minority candidates respectively. The Eamcet-2006 convener has issued a notification that the candidates with the above ranks shall attend counselling for admission to Engineering colleges on July 17. The EAMCET convener for minority candidates has issued another notification in Urdu newspapers that the counselling for minority candidates qualified in EAMCET with the above ranks to attend the counselling at a different venue on the same day.
Appeal to authorities
Jaweed Khan, father of a minority candidate says while EAMCET convenor is responsible for admission to seats in all colleges barring minority institutions, convener for EAMCET-AC is exclusively responsible for admissions into minority colleges. " But both the conveners have called the candidates with above ranks on the same day at different venues for counselling," he adds. Mr.Khan has appealed to the authorities concerned to conduct counselling at different dates to facilitate minority candidates attend both counselling sessions.
