HYDERABAD: APCC president K. Keshava Rao dismissed the Telugu Desam Party's charge that his party had indulged in horse-trading to secure the Anantapur ZP chairperson's post.
Terming the election of the Congress candidate "surprising", he, however, said there were reports that three to four TDP members in Anantapur district had expressed resentment against the party's attitude in "levelling wild allegations against the Congress." Talking to reporters, Dr. Keshava Rao said he was not aware whether the issue would come under the provisions of the anti-defection law. On the party bagging Khammam ZP by lottery, he said luck favoured the Congress.
Meeting again
On the postponement of elections in Nizamabad, Karimnagar and Warangal districts due to lack of quorum, he said the Congress, on its part, had fulfilled its commitment of giving three vice-chairpersons' posts and one ZP chairperson's post to the TRS. Leaders of the two parties would meet again to iron out differences but he did not foresee any problem for the Congress in bagging the posts of ZP chiefs in Karimnagar and Warangal.
