CHANDIGARH: Haryana and Israel would work towards linking of their agricultural universities and mutual exchange of farmers and agricultural experts for promotion of agriculture. The Israeli Ambassador, David Danieli, who called on Haryana Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda here on Monday hoped thatthe linking of agricultural universities and exchange of agricultural experts and farmers would add a new chapter in further strengthening the bilateral relations between India and Israel. The Chief Minister said that Haryana was interested in setting up of Bio-tech Parks and research institutes besides agro-processing and genetic modification of seeds. The state also wanted to motivate farmers to change the cycle of paddy and wheat cultivation to check the depleting water table. Haryana Chief Secretary Prem Prashant said that a multi-product Special Economic Zone was being set up by Reliance Industries over an area of 25,000 acres that would open tremendous opportunities for development and employment generation. M.L. Tayal, Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister, and the Financial Commissioner and Principal Secretary, Industries, P.K.Chaudhary, were also present. The Ambassador also called on Haryana Agriculture Minister H.S.Chatha.
