Chain snatched from woman

TAMBARAM: A gold chain weighing 10 sovereigns was snatched from a woman at Chitlapakkam near Tambaram on Sunday.

The 52-year-old woman, a resident of Savithri Nagar, was on her way to the market when the incident took place.

A couple of youth on a motorcycle followed her from behind, snatched the chain and fled.

Jewels stolen

At West Tambaram, gold jewels weighing 10 sovereigns were burgled from the house of a cloth storeowner. The merchant had gone to Madurai for the weekend. When he returned on Monday morning, he noticed the main door open and the jewels stolen from the almirah.
