Condolence meeting of Koratala

GUNTUR: The Communist Party of India (Marxist) will conduct a condolence meeting here on Wednesday in memory of senior party leader Koratala Satyanarayana who died recently.

The meeting would be conducted at Venkateswara Vignana Mandiram in the city on Wednesday from 5 p.m. onwards CPI (M) State unit secretary B.V. Raghavulu, Telugu Desam Party leader Ummareddy Venkateshwarlu, Tenali MP Vallabhaneni Balashourie, CPI district secretary Muppalla Nageswara Rao, CPI (Marxist-Leninist) leader Mutthireddy Sreeramulu and others would participate, according to CPI (M) district unit secretary D. Rama Devi.

Recruitment drive

A recruitment drive to fill up posts of `Fitters' and `Apprentice Fitter' in a Hyderabad-based private company, Lokesh Machines, would be conducted at the District Employment Office from 2.30 p.m. on Wednesday, according to District Employment Officer Sheik Shireen Begum.

Candidates with a minimum qualification of ITI course in Fitter and below the age of 22 years may walk in with their bio-data and certificates to participate in the selection process, she added.

Clothes distribution

Clothes valued at Rs.10,000 were distributed to poor children at the Municipal Corporation Primary School in Bharathpet by `Chaitanya Spoorthi', a social and cultural service organisation in the city on Monday.

The clothes were collected from various people who have donated their used clothes to the `Cloth Bank' started by the organisation a few weeks ago, said Chaitanya Spoorthi treasurer Chandu Hanumayamma.
