HYDERABAD: The Division Bench of the Andhra Pradesh High Court on Monday sought reports from various district Collectors regarding dumping of waste material into canals and other water bodies in their respective districts and also the Government initiative to prevent pollution of Hussainsagar lake. The Bench was dealing with two petitions.
Though the Collectors were asked to file affidavits regarding the dumping of waste into water bodies, the same had not been done. The Bench gave them further time while expressing its anguish over their non-responsive nature. The Bench wanted to know what action the authorities had taken prevent solid waste from being into Hussainsagar. The Bench wanted specific action plan from the Government, especially with regard to commercial establishments around the lake.
