Three sustain injuries in stone-pelting

HYDERABAD: Three persons sustained injuries when two groups resorted to stone pelting in Tappachabutra on Monday night.

It all started when some mischief-mongers passed lewd comments at women standing in a queue at Amdapur DPL centre for securing ration cards.On learning about the incident, relatives of the women attacked some persons.

Tension prevails

Within minutes, members of the two groups gathered on either side and started hurling stones at each other - leading to tension in the area. Three persons - Shyam Kumar, Chota Bhai and Jahed, who were injured were sent to the Osmania General Hospital for treatment.

Tappachabutra Inspector M.S. Venugopal Rao said a criminal case was booked and efforts were on to identify the accused responsible.
