Airport Road flyover to be thrown open tomorrow

Four loops of the flyover will be completed in September

BANGALORE: The flyover at the intersection of Airport Road and Inner Ring Road, being built by the Bangalore Development Authority, will be thrown open to the public on Wednesday. The four loops of the flyover will be completed in September.

According to traffic analysis, the traffic along the junction of the Airport Road and Intermediate Ring Road is 4,423 passenger car units.

The immense traffic on this stretch of the road results in time delay and loss of fuel due to idling of vehicles.

Work on the flyover, which was much delayed, was started in 2003.

However, due to litigations with the contractor, the Uttar Pradesh State Bridges Corporation, work was delayed.

The project cost had also escalated.
