NEW DELHI: Two persons who allegedly assaulted members of a BSES Enforcement Department team and broke their video camera and aqua-check machine on Friday have been booked by the police for intimidation and assault and under Section 135 of the Indian Electricity Act, 2003, and sent to judicial remand by a Delhi court. The BSES spokesperson said the accused, Pawan Sharma and Rajinder Sharma, had attacked the BSES officials after they were caught indulging in direct theft of electricity at their house here in Chandni Chowk. The duo are alleged to have assaulted BSES officials and breaking their video camera and aqua-check machine in an attempt to destroy evidence of the incident. As the situation went out of hand, the spokesperson said, the leader of the enforcement team called the local police who booked the accused under Section 135 of the Indian Electricity Act. The accused were later produced in a city court, which sent them to Tihar Jail. The two have been accused of stealing about 16 kW of electricity.
