A new pre-paid autorickshaw booth has come up at Kaloor bus stand. This will hopefully put an end to the innumerable complaints of the people about the high fares charged by autorickshaw drivers. The police also have promised to set up such booths in other parts of the city. However, pre-paid autorickshaw service in the city has been a total failure since the booths already existing at the railway stations and the KSRTC bus stand do not always deliver the expected services. It is in such circumstance that the police have renewed the hopes of the people with yet another pre-paid autorickshaw booth. One expects that the earlier booths will also come under the purview of the newfound drive of the police.
