Young Indians' Southern Regional Summit from July 14

COIMBATORE: A Southern Regional Summit of CII Young Indians will be held in Coimbatore on July 14 and 15, the Chairman of the Summit, Sanjay Jayavarthanavelu, told presspersons here on Tuesday.

It would focus on the topic, "India on the Rise; Sustaining the Momentum through Young Indians."

Platform

The summit would bring together achievers in various areas to interact among themselves and provide a platform for youngsters to share their thoughts on various issues, he added.

Suresh Krishna, Chairman and Managing Director of Sundaram Fasteners Ltd, would inaugurate it.

S. Gopalakrishnan, Chairman, CII Karnataka and Chief Operating Officer of Infosys Technologies, Ltd., would be one among the corporate community to address the summit. Vanitha Mohan, Managing Trustee, Siruthuli, would speak on socio-economic challenges faced by the country.

The final day of the summit would also include a session with achievers speaking on their vision for India.

The Chairman of the YI, Coimbatore Chapter, Ashwin Chandran, added that the Young Indians Coimbatore Chapter had adopted environment, education and economy as their key areas for the year.

The organisation aimed at reaching out to the community in addition to enabling self-development of its members.

The programmes were initiated to involve youth in the issues concerning themselves and the country. The Coimbatore chapter liaisoned with the industry and the academia to work towards the growth of the nation, Mr. Ashwin said.
