Hero Hondo net profit up

CHENNAI : Hero Honda has reported a turnover of Rs. 2,416.65 crore for the quarter ended June 30, 2006, against Rs. 2,007.63 crore in the corresponding period in 2005-06. Sales of two-wheelers have gone up to 8.33 lakh units from 6.88 lakh units. The profit before tax has gone up to Rs. 342.26 crore from Rs. 298.12 crore, and the profit after tax to Rs. 237.74 crore from Rs. 204.45 crore. For the year ended March 31, 2006, the company has reported a net profit after tax of Rs. 971.34 crore on a turnover of Rs. 8,870.26 crore.
