Hyderabad: T. Suman's knock of 105 (11 x 4) helped State Bank of Hyderabad (SBH) score 231 for three, in reply to Andhra Bank's 336, at close of the second day's play in the three-day match in the `A' Division league cricket championship here on Tuesday. In another match Mohd Imran scored 117 for Ensconse CC in its ongoing contest against Evergreen CC. The scores: `A' Div. three-day matches: Second day: BDL 212 and 46 for no loss vs India Cements 186 (B. Santosh Yadav 64, Shiv Shankar five for 36). Andhra Bank 336 (D. Vinay Kumar 83, Naveen Reddy 73, S. Daniel Manohar four for 45) vs SBH 231 for three (T. Suman 105, S. Daniel Manohar 56, Anirudh Singh 55 not out). Narrow win for AECS-2
AECS-2 (Hyderabad) boys defeated Meridian School 23-22 in the inter-school basketball tournament here on Tuesday. Sauibh (7) and Hussain (8) were the main scorers for the winners while Bhandari (10) was the top scorer for the losers. In the girls section, St. Joseph's School defeated AECS-2 (Hyderabad) 14-10 with Poojitha (6) being the main scorer. while Pratibha (4) and Pratima (3) put up a good show for the losers.
12 teams confirm entries
Twelve teams from various zonal railways and production units have confirmed their participation in the third All India railways powerlifting championship which is to be conducted by the South Central Railway Sports Association under the aegis of the Railway Sports Promotion Board at the RRC ground from July 12.
State-ranking table tennis
The Andhra Pradesh State Open ranking table tennis tournament will be held at the G.S.M. Kumud Pramod Dharia indoor sports stadium in Secunderabad from July 16 to 19. Competitions (entry fees given in brackets) will be held for boys and girls in the following categories: mini cadets and cadets (free), sub-juniors (Rs. 20), junior and youth (Rs. 25), men and women (Rs. 30). Entries close with the manager, Shree Gujarati Seva Mandal, Secunderabad (Ph: 040 27535178) on Wednesday at 4 P.M. Participants must produce birth certificates on demand. The four-day meet is open to registered players of the APTTA.
