China beats Australia

AMSTELVEEN : Ma Yi Bo and Fu Bao Rong scored two first-half goals on Tuesday to lead China to a 2-1 win over Australia in the women's Champions Trophy field hockey tournament here on Tuesday. Emily Halliday pulled one back for the Commonwealth champion in the 16th minute.

China leads the standings with six points after three matches. Australia, which is yet to win a match at the round-robin tournament, has two.

The Netherlands, which has four points from two matches, can reclaim the top spot with a win against the New Zealand. — AP
