`Daily wagers'struggle month' to be observed by federation

Staff Correspondent

HUBLI: The Karnataka State Government Daily Wage Employees Federation will be observing "Daily wagers'struggle month" to press for the regularisation of the daily wage employees who have completed ten years of service.

Addressing presspersons here on Tuesday, K.S. Sharma, president of the federation, said the month would be observed from July 10 to August 9.

During this period members of the federation would submit memoranda to the Chief Minister each time he or other Ministers visit the districts to attend functions, he said.

Mr. Sharma said the executive committee of the federation had taken a decision to observe July 23 as "Meet legislators day" during which daily wage employees of each legislative constituency would stage a one-day dharna outside the residence of legislators. The executive committee also decided to chalk out a programme to meet the presidents of all political parties in the State. On August 9, the federation would organise a State-level meet in Hubli.
