KOCHI: Business opportunities are waiting to be exploited at the Hamriyah Free Trade Zone, Sharjah, where a number of Indian companies are doing well, said Rashid Al Leem, Director General of the Government-owned Hamriyah Free Zone Authority. Addressing a press meet here on Monday, Dr. Al Leem said that investing in the zone would give the investor 100 per cent ownership, import and export tax exemption, exemption from all commercial levies and 100 per cent repatriation of capital and profits. The trade zone provides leasing facilities of executive offices, warehouses and plots of land, appropriate licences, apart from administrative, engineering and utility services. The zone has good logistics support with an international airport connected to most major airports in the world and has cargo handling facilities, said Dr. Al Leem. The zone also has a port, Hamriyah Port, apart from being serviced by two other ports, Port Khalid in he West Coast and Port Khofakkam in he East. A delegation from the Hamriyah Free Trade Zone later participated in a seminar promoting business opportunities in the zone. Raju Sethunath, vice-president of the Kerala Chamber of Commerce and Industry, which organised the seminar, also spoke on the occasion.
