Effigies burnt

Staff Reporter

BHUBANESWAR: Activists of Orissa Pradesh Youth Congress (OPYC) burnt the effigies of Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik and Women and Child Development Minister Pramila Mallick here on Tuesday, in protest against their `failure' to take action against some organisations allegedly selling children in the name of adoption.

Rally taken out

Earlier, led by OPYC president Rohit Pujari, the activists went in a rally from Congress Bhavan to Master Canteen Square.

They demanded immediate action against those involved in the child sale racket and sought the resignation of Mr. Patnaik and Ms. Mallick.
