KERC invites objections

Objections invited from consumers

  • Tariff applications being published in newspapers
  • KERC will hold public hearing after objections are received

Bangalore: In line with the Karnataka Electricity Regulatory Commission (KERC) regulations, the electricity supply companies (ESCOMs) filed their Estimated Revenue from Charges (ERC) figures and tariff applications on May 12 and 15.

According to a press release here on Tuesday, the five ESCOMs proposed a uniform tariff increase of 40 paise a unit for all categories of consumers, except Bhagya Jyothi, Kutir Jyothi and irrigation pumpset installations.

The KERC had made preliminary observations on the ERC and tariff proposals. After receiving replies from the ESCOMs, the KERC then cleared the applications for publication in newspapers, calling for objections from consumers.

Tariff and other details are also available on the website www.kerc.org. After receiving the objections, the KERC will hold a public hearing after notifying the dates of hearing in advance, the release added.
