West Bengal Minister rushes to Srinagar

KOLKATA: West Bengal's Tourism Minister Manab Mukherjee will be going to Srinagar to arrange for the return of the bodies of the five tourists from the State who were killed in a grenade attack by extremists at Dalgate in Srinagar on Tuesday.

He will also be discussing with officials of the Jammu and Kashmir Government arrangements for the security of tourists visiting that State.

The five Bengali tourists were among the six killed in the grenade attack on a vehicle. They include a family of three.

The victims were from the Dum Dum and Lake Town areas in North 24 Parganas district, according to police.

More than 20 tourists from the State were injured in an attack on a bus by militants in Jammu and Kashmir on May 31.
