CHENNAI: The DMK Government has not fixed any time frame for a survey on agricultural workers and small and marginal farmers, AIADMK general secretary Jayalalithaa said here on Tuesday. In a statement, she claimed that when the AIADMK was in power, the Government had identified those eligible to get identity cards. A survey was then undertaken, which revealed there were 1.99 crore agricultural workers and small and marginal farmers. She wondered when beneficiaries covered under the Farmers' Security Programme would get assistance, following the Government's decision to issue identity cards afresh and constitute an officials' panel for the purpose. The former Chief Minister posed four questions to Chief Minister M. Karunanidhi: When will the new committees be formed? When will the new survey be complete? When will new identity cards be issued? When will assistance be given?
