GURUVAYUR: Devaswom Minister G. Sudhakaran has said that the Government is willing to wind up prosecution steps against Kannada actress Jayamala provided she apologised to the people of Kerala and to the devotees for her `baseless claims' of having entered the sanctum sanctorum of the Sabarimala Ayyappa Temple. Inaugurating the annual `sukhachikitsa' (restorative therapy) for elephants belonging to the Guruvayur Devaswom here on Tuesday, the Minister said the that Travancore Devaswom Board (TDB) that has administrative control over the Sabarimala Ayyappa Temple had recommended a Crime Branch investigation into Jayamala's claims. He said Jayamala had refused to talk to the vigilance officer of the Devaswom Board who had approached her as part of the investigation.
