Bangalore city police to deploy extra striking force units

BANGALORE: Chief Minister H.D. Kumaraswamy has asked the State police to keep a strict vigil at all the places, especially those bordering Maharashtra.

The instructions have been issued in the wake of the serial blasts in railway stations in Mumbai.

Additional Director-General of Police (Law and Order) Shankar Bidari said alerts had been sent to all districts. Superintendents of Police and Commissioners of Police have been asked to keep a watch on the movements of anti-social elements and make preventive arrests, if necessary. Security policemen will be deployed in public places such as railway stations and bus stations, he said.

Bangalore Police Commissioner Neelam Achut Rao said the city police would deploy extra striking force units.

Security would be tightened in the city railway stations and bus stations. Preventive arrests would be made, if necessary, he added.
