GO to destroy dogs opposed

Special Correspondent

HYDERABAD: Officials of the Health Department are in a dilemma over implementing a recent Government Order to destroy all stray dogs in the State to end the menace of rabies.

The Blue Cross Society, headed by film actress Amala, and other organisations are up in arms. Instead, they suggest castration of the male dogs. Meanwhile, Chief Minister Y. S. Rajasekhara Reddy, at a review meeting of the health issues here on Tuesday, cleared a Rs. 6-crore budget for anti-rabies vaccines.
