Naxal activity down: YSR
Special Correspondent
HYDERABAD:
Naxalite activities in the State are on a downward trend, Chief Minister Y. S. Rajasekhara Reddy said here on Tuesday. Talking to a group of CRPF trainees who called on him, the Chief Minister said his Government viewed naxalism as a socio-economic rather than a `law and order' problem. Once the economic condition of a person living in an interior area improved, he would develop confidence in the administrative system.
On its part, the State Government was taking steps to develop remote areas in a big way, he said. During the hour-long interaction, Dr. Reddy told trainees that police should have a human face while discharging their duties.
