He told presspersons on Monday that roads, minor bridges, government buildings and properties belonging to Chamundeshwari Electricity Company (CHESCO), including transformers and poles, were damaged. A report on the loss of property had been sent to the Deputy Commissioner and added that he would appeal to the Chief Minister for release funds to take up repair work on priority. A proposal was sent to the National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (NABARD) for launching "Grama Santhe" scheme in Gendehalli, Bikkodu and Halebeedu villages. An assistance of Rs. 4.50 lakh was expected, he said. Mr. Kumaraswamy handed over a cheque for Rs. 50,000 to wife of Kadur Maddurayya, who was killed in Angadihalli village recently, when the wall of his house collapsed in heavy rain. Meanwhile, Deputy Commissioner K.H. Ashwathanarayana Gowda has directed taluk-level authorities to send reports on the loss of property, due to heavy rain in various parts of the district. According to a release, Mr. Gowda conducted a meeting of taluk-level officers recently and instructed authorities to take steps to tackle any situation that might arise owing to downpour. He also instructed them against leaving the headquarters without permission.

He told the officers to submit a report on the availability of buildings for primary health centres and anganwadis in the district. Superintendent of Police, Panduranga H.
