No untoward incident reported after the Santacruz blast

MUMBAI:
A few hours after the blasts, people were making a beeline for the RN Cooper hospital in Vile Parle, a western suburb of Mumbai, to identify over 35 bodies and 80 injured. Victims of the blasts at Santacruz and Jogeshwari were brought to this hospital.
Inspector Chavan at the Santacruz site said that one bogie of the train was destroyed. It was not possible to give a figure as to how many were injured or dead. He said the area was quiet and there was no untoward incident after the blast.
Hospital authorities had put partitions and kept the bodies at the entrance. People were crowding to see the lists of injured, dead and transferred patients. While some were stunned into silence, others rushed severely injured patients to other hospitals.
A senior citizen was enquiring about Kushit Shah, saying he was told that Shah was in the ICU. After seeing Shah's name in the casualty list, he shakily went to the partitioned area for identification, disbelief and sorrow writ large on his face.
Over 30 were confirmed dead and 90 admitted to the Cooper Hospital. Only five bodies were identified.
