Mumbai serial blasts: red alert in city

Staff Reporter

HYDERABAD: A red alert has been sounded in the city in the wake of serial blasts that rocked Mumbai on Tuesday.

Police forces have been deployed in sensitive areas and security beefed up at railway and bus stations. Frisking operations have been intensified at all major junctions in the twin cities. Suspects are being rounded up to prevent any untoward incident. A constant vigil is being maintained on the movement of strangers at all the three railway stations at Secunderabad, Kachiguda and Nampally, besides Jubilee Bus Station and Mahatma Gandhi Bus Station.

"Our force is on high alert and bomb disposal teams are also ready to meet any eventuality," Deputy Commissioner of Police (South) Sandeep Shandilya said.
