Huts demolished in Chaderghat

HYDERABAD : In a joint operation, the Revenue and Municipal staff, assisted by the police, demolished on Tuesday 35 huts put up in the Chaderghat nala area. They used three bulldozers to pull down the alleged "illegal structures", as described by a Revenue department official.

The dwellers, who raised a hue and cry after losing their huts, demanded they be provided alternate dwellings. Revenue and municipal officials said the demolition was carried out to allow free flow of water and prevent residents from filling debris in the nala.
