Rs. one lakh stolen
Thieves broke into a locked house at Kamalanagar in Kushaiguda and took away one lakh rupees from the almirah on Monday night. According to Kushaiguda police, the house owner R. Anjaiah, a retired employee of ECIL, went to his village along with family members to attend a marriage on Monday. On return, they saw the lock of the main door broken and the cash stolen on Tuesday.
Burial bid stopped
The Chatrinaka police on Monday thwarted in the last minute the attempt of some persons to bury the body of their relative Jareena Bee, 52, who died under suspicious circumstances. A resident of Prahladnagar, the victim was injured after skidding on the floor in the house and was admitted to a hospital where she died while undergoing treatment. The incident reportedly raised some suspicions among the locals but the victim's family members decided to bury the body without informing the police.
Succumbs to burns
A 40-year-old woman Tirupatamma, who set herself on fire reportedly after her daughter refused to give money for liquor two days ago, succumbed to her burns on Tuesday at the Osmania General Hospital.
