Call for research on disability studies

NEW DELHI: Noted jurist and former Chief Justice of the Delhi High Court, Justice Rajinder Sachar, has called for research on disability studies in academic institutions across the country starting from the school level.

Mr. Sachar was speaking at the valedictory session of a four-day national symposium on "Disability Studies in India: New Directions for Future" at Jawaharlal Nehru University here over the weekend. Organised by the Society for Disability and Rehabilitation Studies (SDRS) in collaboration with JNU's Centre for Human Rights Teaching and Research, the symposium saw participation of a number of scholars and experts on disability studies.
