Special Correspondent

The acquisition will help the company expand its global footprint

Thiruvananthapuram: US Technology Resources Inc, the parent company of the Technopark- based US Technology, has announced its acquisition of QA Labs Inc (QAL) based in Canada.

While USTRI is a leading provider of IT services and business process outsourcing solutions, QAL is the largest independent software testing and quality assurance provider in Canada. Headquartered in Vancouver, QAL services clients in various sectors such as telecom and wireless, life sciences and health care, insurance and financial services, media and games and packaged software. It assists clients in building infrastructure, creating test strategies, designing test cases, automation and development and test execution.

Through this acquisition, USTRI also expands its global footprint and ability to offer a comprehensive range of IT services through an integrated global delivery model that includes onsite, onshore, nearshore and offshore locations. QA Labs will help expand US Technology's world-class quality assurance and test services

"The acquisition of QA Labs is a direct response to our clients who seek dedicated quality assurance and test services as provided by an industry leader," says Dan Gupta, chairman and chief executive officer of US Technology. "The acquisition is part of our strategy to meet the increasingly specialised needs of our global client base", says Sajan Pillai, president and chief operating officer, USTRI. "It demonstrates our commitment to product quality and rapid and strategic growth, as we provide a stimulating and challenging environment for our talented team of IT professionals from both QAL and US Technology", he added. Wolfgang Strigel, founder and president of QAL said he was delighted. "The obvious synergies between our firms are compelling, and the clear winners in this agreement are our collective clients and dedicated employees", he said.
