NEW DELHI: For the lovers of Asterix and Obelix and their several entertaining adventures, this latest venture promises to be a real treat. Premiering this Friday at cinema halls in Delhi is the brand new animated film from the shores of France: "Asterix and the Vikings -- The Latest Asterix Adventure." Brought to India by Star Entertainment, the film has been adapted from the comic "Asterix and the Normans" by Rene Goscinny and Albert Uderzo. Asterix comics have been translated into 103 languages and dialects. "The film `Asterix and the Vikings' combines the original spirit of the world famous comic strip with the state-of-the-art animation techniques produced from more than 1,00,000 drawings," said Head of the Audio-Visual Vision of the French Embassy, Mohamed Bendjebbour. In the film, Asterix and Obelix set sail for the dangerous Viking territory to rescue Justforkix, the teenage nephew of the Gaul chief. Not only do they have to fight the Vikings, but they also encounter one big obstacle in Abba, the cute and ruthless daughter of the Vikings chief, with whom Justforkix has fallen madly in love. The film is directed by Stefan Fjeldmark and Jesper Moller and has been produced by M6 Studio, France.
