Pondicherry: General secretary of the Pondicherry State unit of the Hindu Munnani, D. Murugayyan called upon the Centre to come out with firm and deterrent action against those indulging in terrorist activities in the country. In a release issued here on Wednesday, Mr. Murugayyan said the serial blasts in Mumbai and in Kashmir on Tuesday had rocked the country. He said the Hindu Munnani condemned the incidents in the strongest possible terms. He called upon the Centre to evolve steps to curb terrorist activities and protect people against the machinations of terrorist-friendly organisations.
`No soft attitude'
"Let there be no soft attitude against those destroying peace and tranquillity in society," he said. The Hindu Munnani is scheduled to stage a demonstration at the Pattanikadai junction here on July 19 in this regard.
