Mukut Mithi to take charge on July 19

Pondicherry: Mukut Mithi, former Chief Minister of Arunachal Pradesh, would be sworn in the new Lt Governor of Union Territory at a function in Raj Nivas here on July 19, according to an official source. The time of the swearing in would be finalised in a couple of days, the source added. Mr. Mithi would succeed Lt .General (retd) M.M. Lakhera, who had been transferred as Mizoram Governor. Mr. Lakhera would, however, continue to hold additional charge as

Lt. Governor of Andaman and Nicobar Islands. Mr. Mukut Mithi would be the 18th incumbent of the gubernatorial post.
