French Republic Day

Pondicherry: Arrangements are under way by the organisations of French nationals and the French Consulate to celebrate the 218th French Republic Day in Pondicherry, a former French colony, on Friday. Representatives of various associations of ex-French military personnel and French nationals residing in Pondicherry would place wreath at the foot of the statue of "Soldat Inconnu" on the premises of the Monument Aux Morts (War Memorial) on the Beach Road. The French Consul General in Pondicherry, Michel Seguy, and also an official representing Pondicherry Administration would participate.
