Election to civic body posts on July 14

KARAIKAL: Elections to posts of civic bodies in Karaikal district in Pondicherry would be held on July 14. The vice-chairman of the Karaikal municipality, chairman and vice-chairman of five commune panchayats and vice-presidents of 27 village panchayats would be elected by the elected representatives. District Election Officer and Collector, Sudhir Kumar, said on Wednesday that filing of nominations, withdrawal, scrutiny and polling would be held same day.

He said polling would be held in the respective municipal, commune panchayat and village panchayat buildings.
