Change in Chief Minister's tour programme

Kumaraswamy to visit Gulbarga, Bijapur for two days

  • Foundation stone for the 1,000-bed Government Hospital in the Gulbarga to be laid on July 17
  • Chief Minister to inspect site for proposed building for housing High Court circuit Bench in Gulbarga

    GULBARGA: There has been a slight change itinerary of Chief Minister H.D. Kumaraswamy to Gulbarga district. Instead of the one-day visit on July 16 as scheduled earlier, the Chief Minister would spend two days in the district.

    Official sources said the Chief Minister, who would be arrive here by a helicopter from Bangalore on July 16, would dedicate the Bennethora Major Irrigation Project to the nation and leave for Bijapur to inaugurate the newly constructed bus stand and the Consumer Redressal Forum Building there. He would also inaugurate the Korathi Kolhar Bridge constructed across the Krishna in Bijapur district.

    He will return to Gulbarga in the evening and stay at the Government Iwan-e-Shahi guest house. On July 17, the Mr. Kumaraswamy would participate in a function organised by the Hyderabad Karnataka Chamber of Commerce and Industry and inaugurate the Karnataka Housing Board Commercial Complex constructed on the Ring Road in the city and also inaugurate the new Inspector-General of Police office complex before laying the foundation stone for the 1,000-bed Government Hospital in the city.

    The Chief Minister was supposed to have performed "bhoomi puja" of the proposed new court complex to house the Circuit Bench of the High Court to be constructed on the outskirts of the city on the Gulbarga-Afzalpur Road, he would now only make an inspection of the site for the proposed court building complex.

    Mr. Kumaraswamy would leave for Afzalpur by helicopter to inaugurate the 100-bed government hospital building there.

    He will also inaugurate the rehabilitated village affected by earthquake in Afzalpur taluk before leaving for Bangalore the same day.
