E.U.'s one-China policy

BEIJING: Visiting President of the European Parliament Josep Borrell Fontelles reiterated the European Union (E.U.)'s adherence to the one-China policy here on Wednesday. Mr. Borrell, who is here on an official goodwill visit, met Chinese Foreign Minister Li Zhaoxing. He expressed appreciation over China's rapid growth and its increasingly important role in international affairs. The two sides agreed to strengthen the friendly ties. They also discussed international and regional issues. Mr. Borrell is making the visit as the guest of Wu Bangguo, Chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress, China's top legislature. — Xinhua
