CONCERNED: BJP leader L.K. Advani visiting the injured at KEM Hospital in Mumbai on Wednesday.
MUMBAI: Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha L. K. Advani on Wednesday demanded a stringent anti-terrorist law to combat terrorism and to shatter the image that a soft stance was being towards militants. Mr. Advani said the Mumbai blasts underscored the need for such a law. The blasts indicated that Pakistan had not yet dismantled the anti-India terrorist infrastructure on its soil. He was speaking to reporters after visiting two city hospitals where the blast victims were recovering. He said the Mumbai blasts were better planned and coordinated in comparison to attacks on the London metro a year ago. The Mumbai serial blasts were an attack on not just the country's commercial capital but also on the entire nation. The Central and State Governments must work in tandem to destroy the terror network in the country, he said. Mr. Advani did not criticise the Maharashtra Government. He said the need of the hour was for the ruled and the rulers to work together.
