TRS rebel lashes out at KCR for eyeing ZP post

Special Correspondent

HYDERABAD: Telangana Rashtra Samiti (TRS) rebel legislator from Hanamkonda M. Satyanarayana Reddy on Tuesday lashed out at the party president K. Chandrasekhara Rao questioning the TRS party chief's keenness on securing the Zilla Parishad chief post with the support of the Congress even as it had not secured a majority.

He said people were probing the "high drama" enacted by TRS leaders who were trying to corner the Congress.

Mr. Reddy mentioned that when the Congress leaders had clearly told the TRS to close ties, it was still trying to hold on to power by bargaining for Zilla Parishad posts.

Mr. Satyanarayana Reddy claimed the TRS leadership was opposed to back-up the candidature of Pulamma for the top post just because a dissident MLA D.Srinivas Rao had extended his support.

He reminded the TRS leaders that in Nizamabad, Medak, Warangal and Karimnagar districts, several Congress and TRS candidates had won the elections to local bodies with mutual support.
