NEW DELHI:
The Delhi High Court on Wednesday issued a notice to the Delhi police on an appeal by underworld don Babloo Srivastava against his conviction in the Lalit Kumar Suneja murder case in East Delhi in August 1992.
A Division Bench of the Court comprising Justice R.S. Sodhi and Justice P.K. Bhasin directed the city police to file a reply to the appeal by July 20. The Court had on Tuesday sought a reply from the investigating agency on another appeal by Nitin Shah, the other accused in the case, challenging his conviction. A Delhi court had on July 3 sentenced Srivastava and Shah to life imprisonment, holding them guilty of conspiring to kill Suneja following a payment dispute.
