NGO Association protests against staff transfer

Special Correspondent

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The NGO Association organised a demonstration and a public meeting in front of the Employment Directorate here Wednesday in protest against the mass transfer of 61 employees in the name of general transfers. Association general secretary Kottathala Mohanan inaugurated the meeting. He said that the education of the children of the employees was affected as the transfers were made over a month after the commencement of the academic year. The employees could not accept such transfers violating norms. But many heads of departments were continuing to transfer the staff members owing to political pressure. After issuing orders violating norms for the ruling people, many of them were going on leave or on tour in order to escape the wrath of the employees.
