Parents of IAS officer murdered

Tarn Taran: The aged parents of an IAS officer were hacked to death by robbers who broke into their house in remote Bikhiwind village.

Two persons entered the house of Malkit Singh and Gurdev Kaur, the parents of IAS officer Amar Singh, who is posted at the Prime Minister's Office in New Delhi, with the intention of stealing articles.

On hearing the commotion, the old couple got up and raised an alarm, Senior Superintendent of Police, Tarn Taran, P K Sinha said.

The accused, who were carrying some sharp edged weapons, attacked the couple and hacked them to death.
