MAHABUBNAGAR: All the necessary steps have been taken for early completion of four major protected water supply projects in the district, said district Collector V. Usha rani. Speaking to reporters at Kodangal she said that Bukkapur, Achampet and Madgul protected water supply projects will be commissioned by December this year, while Rajoli scheme was already completed and is under trial. The Collector said that these projects would solve the long pending problem of drinking water needs in some 124 villages. She said that a proposal was made seeking Rs. 8 crores from Government to overcome bottlenecks in Kagnur water supply scheme. The Kagnur project would meet the drinking water needs of some 38 villages in Kodangal and Doulatabad mandals in the district and some villages in neighbouring Ranga Reddy district. The Collector said that RWS engineers would be sent to Indian Institute of Public Health at Hyderabad to undergo training in water testing.
