BSNL telephone

numbers changed

CHENNAI: Around 500 BSNL telephone numbers, Chennai Telephones in Chromepet Exchange with area codes 2221, 2241, 2251, 2236 and 2238 have been transferred to Pallavaram EWSD RSU with effect from Monday with new code, 2264. The change applies to connections working in East till GST Road up to door no 7/21, West till Anjaneyar Koil Street up to door no. 58 on the left and door no.7 on the right, South till Hasan Basha Street up to door no. 23/10 and North till Pillaiyar Koil Street up to door no.16. The helpline numbers for enquiries are 22641100/1000. For complaints, customers can contact 2264 1191. Subscribers need to re-register their password for NSD/ISD after transfer.

Personality development

PAC Centre4Development, Ashok Nagar is conducting `Turning Point'— a personality development workshop for Plus Two students who are all set to enter college. Dental check up

Baskar Dental Foundation, T Nagar conducted a free dental check up for mentally disabled persons at Banyan and Home for Mentally Retarded at Otteri last week.

It offered medicines and diet guidance to the inmates besides a medical report.

Classrooms inaugurated

Madras Metro Round Table 05 opened two classrooms and kitchen and toilet block at Adi Dravida Welfare School in Palavakkam at a cost of Rs.7.7 lakh on Tuesday under its Tsunami Rehabilitation Programme. On the same day, one classroom and toilet block and water unit constructed at Government Middle School, Egmore at a cost of Rs.3.5 lakh under Sarva Siksha Abhiyan scheme was inaugurated.

Yoga course

New Rotary president

V. Vasudevan was installed as the 21st president of Rotary Club of Madras T. Nagar (RI District 3230) at a ceremony on Friday. He adopted 16 underprivileged girls through Monday Charity club covering their education cost for a year. P.K. Lakshminarayanan is the secretary.

Symposium

The importance of Microbiology in the fields of hospital management, food and dairy, pharmaceuticals was stressed at the symposium held at Jaya College of Arts and Science, Thiruninravur on Monday.
